In the restaurants of the region of Murcia, the gastronomy is very similar to that of Andalusia in southern Spain and the Valencian Community. A mediterrenean diet is the basis for most gastronomies in Spain and of course the Murcian one too! Fresh vegetables straight from the garden are part of the main ingredients in a Murcia dish. Great and delicious vegetables, meat, fish and typical products from the region. The same for the province of Cadiz in southern Spain. Same as in Valencia, Murcia also enjoys great rice dishes like Paella, important part of your diet, although they fix rice dishes here in hundreds of different ways with different condiments, and always the way the client likes it.
Sardines, rices and stews are part of the gastronomy here, all of these united with a mediterrenean diet with great bread, olive oil and fine wine.
Each town has it's traditional dish, like the Jumillano Gazpacho, Gazpacho of Yecla, Partridge in a delicious sauce, or rice with rabbit. In Calaspara during the right time of the year you can also enjoy a delicious dish of rice with snails. In the Ricote Valley you'll enjoy wood oven lamb, as well as delicious goat cheeses, fresh cheese or cured cheese and much much more!
From the Murcia Cuisine we also mention it's regional wines produced in Murcia from their own vineyards. Red wines, Rose's and white wines are truely delightful! |
