Cartagena is a municipality of almost 200,000 inhabitants, being the second city of importance in the Region of Murcia. Tourism and industry are it´s two main sources of income. Cartagena is a municipality in the Region of Murcia that has a population close to 200,000 people. It is located in the south of the coast of Murcia. It is part of the famous La Manga del Mar Menor, one of the prefered destinations for tourists. The other part belongs to the municipality of San Javier.
It´s terminal muncipality has a surface area of 558kms2 that has beaches and mountains. All of this with great climate, with temperatures that average around 20 degrees.
It is a city in which industry and tourism is mixed with the mining importance and it´s port (one of the biggest ports in Spain). All of this is what makes the economy a flowing and prosperous one. |
